History and credentials.
Unifab Corporation began operations on August 13, 1940 as Kalamazoo Coaches, Inc. At its inception the company manufactured 16-18 passenger buses known as the "Pony Cruiser". These buses were marketed internationally to transportation companies specializing in short distance mass transit. At the end of World War II, as the automobile became the preferred mode of personal transportation, the demand for Pony Cruisers declined. Kalamazoo Coaches amended it's Artilces of Incorporation to become Unifab Corporation in March, 1952.
The strategic focus of Unifab Corporation is on biomedical caging and equipment, light metal manufacturing, cabinets, enclosures, and contract manufacturing and fabrication. Some of the products we still manufacture, aluminum steps used in commercial delivery vehicles for example, tie back to the original product of the company.
Our design services have been involved in prototype and production runs of parts and assemblies for many industries. Custom metal fabrications include auto industry components, missile system components, cabinets and enclosures for electronics, refrigeration recovery equipment, and RV industry components.
Our mission at Unifab is to continually improve the quality, costs, and delivery of our products and services to meet our customers needs. Unifab welcomes customer feedback (good and bad!).
